You came in with weather on you
Like the outside followed you home
Didn't say a word worth quoting
Didn't need to, you just glowed
And I'm not the type to notice
I'm the type to overthink
But you smiled across a dark room
And I forgot to blink

It's a small thing, it's a stupid thing
It's a face doing what faces do
But the lights went up about a hundred watts
(Whoa!) and every watt was you

Electric smile, electric smile
Somebody wire this whole place up
Electric smile, electric smile
You could power the city just showing up
I was fine, I was fine, I was doing okay
Then you looked at me sideways and blew the fuse
Electric smile
(So bright!) I've got nothing to lose

I don't need a mirror anymore
I can see myself in how you look
Turns out I've been checking glass for years
When a person was the better book
And you're not even being clever
You're just being unguarded and near
Which is somehow harder, somehow rarer
Somehow all I want in here

Don't tell them I said any of this
Tomorrow I'll deny the whole thing
But tonight the wiring's showing

Electric smile, electric smile
Somebody wire this whole place up
Electric smile, electric smile
You could power the city just showing up
I was fine, I was fine, I was doing okay
Then you looked at me sideways and blew the fuse
Electric smile
(So bright!) I've got nothing to lose
