Fae, fae, paidi mou, fae!
Ena, dyo, tria
Siga, siga, siga siga!
Opa! Opa!
Siga, siga, Moussaka, wait for the golden top
Siga, siga, siga, siga, don't you dare to stop
Eggplant, meat, potato, and a cloud of béchamel
Siga, siga, siga... grigora! Ring the bell yia mas!
Yiayia got up at dawn and did not consult the sun
She drew a plan of the pan and the building has begun
Ground floor is the eggplant, first floor is the meat
A pinch of cinnamon on top, but you didn't hear it from me
The roof is béchamel, thick as a winter coat
She tests it with a knife like a doctor with a note
Cousin from Athens says it should be light and lean
Yiayia says light is a lamp, paidi mou, can't you see ela re!
The oven door opens and the whole village leans
Siga, siga siga!
Grigora!
Siga, siga, Moussaka, wait for the golden top
Siga, siga, siga, siga, don't you dare to stop
Eggplant, meat, potato, and a cloud of béchamel
Siga, siga, siga... grigora! Ring the bell yia mas!
Uncle Stavros wants the corner, the crispy one, the best
Cousin takes a photograph before the fork can rest wait, wait!
Little Nikos says he's full, then he finishes his third
Papou tells the story of the fish that was a bird
Yiayia cuts with a ruler, every square is the same
Except the one she gives me, that one has my name
Then she packs a container, it's the size of a drum
Pare ligo, paidi mou, take a little, and you'll come you'll come!
Siga, siga, the oven is thinking
Siga, siga, the whole village is waiting
Now! Now!
Grigora, grigora, Moussaka, the golden top
Grigora, grigora, grigora, don't you stop
Eggplant, meat, potato, and a cloud of béchamel
Siga... no more siga! Ring the bell yia mas!
