A Viking folk journey of resilience and renewal. Two survivors carry an ember through loss, find strength in each other, and rise beyond the dark to ignite a new flame and a brighter dawn.
We did not outlast the fire — we became it;
let the storm keep the kingdom, we keep the name.
Two stubborn sparks the winter couldn't tame
found each other in the dark and answered: flame.
I came across the water with an ember and a vow;
I did not know your face, I only knew somehow
that half a light is looking for its other half of light,
and mine had been rehearsing yours all night.
I had kept a shield of sorrow and a sky I could read;
I did not need a rescue, I was answering a need —
to set two flames together where the wind is worst,
and watch the second burn as brave as the first.
What they built can fall.
What we are, can't.
A crown is only gold; a name is what you plant —
so we have planted ours in every place we stand,
a field of small bright fires, hand in hand.
We did not outlast the fire — we became it;
let the storm keep the kingdom, we keep the name.
Two stubborn sparks the winter couldn't tame
rose up from the ashes as one flame.
